April 3, 2002: Been thinking about faceted classification, and I suppose this is obvious, but it just dawned on me that there's a really big difference between tagging objects with metadata on one hand and classifying the metadata itself on the other hand. The former looks like this (useful in its own right), while the latter looks like this, which (if you can figure out the proof-of-concept-ey UI) provides a lot more control. (thanks, victor)
