March 27, 2000: I recently suggested the idea of a standard user test reporting language, but I wasn't the first person to think of it, believe it or not: Common Industry Format is a software-industry effort run out of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Unfortunately it's more of a format (thus the name) than a computer-readable syntax, but shoot that's gotta be a solvable problem, doesn't it?
